This one was less easy to anticipate before Social Media reviews but in situ (aka at the reception desk) it works every time. When a client or customer approaches you with a problem… never, ever, show any interest. It only encourages them to believe that you actually intend to resolve their issue (you don’t have to look bored, but it helps convey how unimportant they are to you).
Of course, they won’t come back. They’ll move on and find another supplier/contact/business to deal with. If that was your aim – Success! Well done!
